About the Young Change Makers

The Young Change Makers (YCM) is a grant scheme aimed to promote and inculcate a strong sense of community involvement among youths in the society. Inaugurated in 2005, this scheme aims to empower youths on two levels.

1. Empowering youths as decision makers as they organise events on their own, under the guidance of a YCM mentor.
2. Foster youth development and leadership.

This scheme provides funding for youth groups to organise their own events to raise funds for their chosen beneficiaries. While youths are given the autonomy to decide on the nature of their events and the execution of it, it also promotes a sense of ownership among youths to their project and gives them greater sense of responsibility in the society.
